This area of Gwynedd, North Wales has many Tourist Attractions and is renowned for its outstanding scenery and natural beauty.   There is something for everyone to enjoy.   If you are feeling adventurous you can Climb Snowdon or go Mountain Biking at Coed y Brenin.  At a more leisurely pace you can visit the outstanding Castles of Harlech, Criccieth, Caernarfon and Conway.  Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Sygun Copper Mine are also of great interest.

Numerous Coastal and Mountain walks are availabe nearby.  There is the Ardudwy Way Walk.  which stretches from Barmouth to Llandecwyn via Harech and this can be walked if need be in three sections.   You can choose plenty of other walks in and around the Barmouth area and you can obtain details from the Barmouth Walking Festival website where all walks are graded and full details are given.

You will find picturesque cycle path routes all over the area and plenty to choose from, you can check these out on the Sustrans Safe Routes to Ride websites.

If you are a Railway enthusiast there are various narrow gauge railways to travel on including the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway which runs between Porthmadog and Caernarfon. You can now travel from Caernarfon through to Blaenau Ffestiniog. A Steam Railway and Ferry run between Fairbourne and Barmouth.

There are beautiful flat sandy beaches at Talybont, Barmouth, Dyffryn Ardudwy, and nearby Harlech.  The whole Family can have fun at nearby Shell Island where there are hundreds of different shells to be found.  The seaside town of Barmouth is approximately 3 miles south of Talybont and offers a picturesque harbour, sandy beaches also a selection of Shops, Bars and Restaurants.

There is Fly, Course and Sea Fishing.  Horse riding and a choice of excellent golf courses available in the area. There is the famous Royal St. Davids at Harlech. Also courses at nearby Dolgellau, Morfa Bychan Porthmadog to name but a few.

Visit Portmeirion Village which is famous for its' pottery, stunning gardens and the TV series "The Prisoner".  There are various beautiful Gardens and Parks to visit in North Wales, Bodnant Garden being just one of them.
